Back to the subject of style icons, I'd like to talk about one of my all time favourites: Anita Pallenberg. She became popular thanks to her relationships with Brian Jones and Keith Richards. The Sixth Stone -as she was known- played an important role in the band from the late 60's throughout the 70's.
It's not just the clothes, but her attitude towards fashion what makes me like her so much. The way she dresses is a direct consequence of her personality. Pallenberg is the female version of the Renaissance Man: she does lots of thing and excels in all of them. During the nineties she studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins.

You're so right about attitude being a big part of it. The greatest icons have that personality that follow through what they visually offer.
these pictures are fabulous. I love the style from this era. I might just copy it tomorrow for school.

So happy to see this post as Anita is one of my favourites, I find her so much more fascinating than the Stones themselves. Plus she is amazing in Performance!
The best Anita Pallenberg site on the web!
In the top set of photos, the bottom right one where she wearing the flowered dress and holding her hat. I don't think that's Anita. I think it's Suki Potier, who also went out with Brian Jones.
