Under the influence

From left to right: Gala, Rumi and Lisa

The influence of blogs doesn't cease to astonish me. Not only they had the ability to be first -opposite traditional media- informing the news, but also they are starting to create trends.

Cada día me sorprendo más de la capacidad de influencia que tienen los blogs. No solo por la ventaja que tienen para adelantarse a la noticia frente a los medios tradicionales, sino también porqué con más frecuencia crean tendencia.

Bloggers like Rumi or Gala are showing a great ability to create trends between their readers. Thanks to the immediacy of the net, the cropped tops - so typical of the 90's- are spreading like wildfire.

Bloggers como Rumi o Gala están demostrando tener una gran capacidad para crear moda entre sus lectores. Gracias a la inmediatez de internet los "cropped tops" tan típicos de los 90 se están extendiendo por todo el mundo a una velocidad de vértigo.

How far can "the power" of blogs be extended?

¿Hasta dónde creéis que puede llegar "el poder" de los blogs?

you pose a great question here! i often think that i'm going to look like all of the bloggers out there and realize that it's really such a small community. it's just crazy since it seems as though everyone must read the same blogs that i do every morning. i guess that's not exactly the case :)

OH MY. i was so surprised to see my pic. i am so new to this blog world so this is so lovely. thank you.

i agree with the power of blogs. look at all the clothing companes "sponsoring" + getting bloggers to wear a new item, etc... its big because the world is getting smaller and smaller. The communication channels are open to the global community...and people look to other for inspiration...ideas...as the media bombards us with unattainable images. Where as bloggers have a more real quality to them.

thanks again love. xx.

You're so right, it amazes me how influential fashion blog stars have become, Susie Bubble had an interesting post on this recently, not sure if you've seen it. It boggles my mind how the internet has changed and influenced the world and our lives.

you are so right. I think that blogs are the natural substitutes for fashion magazines. Everybody has access to the web and we are able to watch all the editorials we can imagine. Apart from this most of the bloggers are really tred setters, and i think this is just the begining.

yeahhh blogs are so much quicker and up-to-date than magazines that come out once a month.
but im not a huge fan of the cropped top.... sorry.

I'm SUCH and addict of Punky B (http://www.punky-b.com) and Totokaelo (http://www.totokaelo.com). Funny how dressing in the internet age has become sooo much more international.

I'm always surprised about how fast those blogger trends spread as well! But for what it's worth, I'm by no means a fan of the cropped shirt look ;)
