Soñar despierto

*Yesterday, Josep Font presented in Paris his latest collection. Once again, the Spanish designer, took distance from the mediocrity that floods the majority of international catwalks, showing his mastery and savoir-faire.

I can safely say, this is one of the few shows that have made me jump with joy from my chair and made me think about fashion as art.

Like puzzle pieces falling into place, Font conceived this 18Th century story -history itself- taking care of every single detail: from colours, to fabrics, embroideries, silhouettes or even the atmosphere.

More than dresses, these garments are works of art invested with life, capable of leaving behind feelings of astonishment.

hey!! so i've been disconnected from the internet for the past few days and i feel like i've missed out on so much already... josep font is quite the designer! i see a bit of mcqueen in his work, but overall it's a much more vibrant (and lighter) collection. thanks for sharing this :)

anyways i hope you'll enjoy paris (actually i'm sure you will). i'm planning to go there for a sunday/monday affair on the weekend of july 20th. maybe we'll cross paths? :P have fun!!

Oh, you are so right, certainly art. I love the patterned tights and the lacy ballet esque dresses. That lemon dress is rather fantastic too.

must say, i've never heard of Josep Font before, but I'll be keeping an eye out now.

The third image reminds me of Rodarte's latest collection.
