Uta Barth's pictures are really different from what we are accustomed to. However, that difference it is not a cause of distress, on the contrary; her photos evoke calmness. Objects don't distract the eye, it's only a matter of seeing and letting yourself go. In short: it is about getting lost in the vast reality around us, fixing the gaze on nothing.
Las fotografías de Uta Barth son muy diferentes a lo que uno está acostumbrado. Pero esa diferencia no es causa de desasosiego, sino más bien todo lo contrario; sus fotos evocan tranquilidad. No hay objetos que distraigan la mirada, sólo se trata de ver y dejarse llevar. En pocas palabras: se trata de perderse en la inmensidad que nos rodea sin fijar la vista en nada.
