Vogue Paris aôut

vogue paris agosto

This is the first time since Emmanuelle Alt is editor-in-chief that I want to buy Vogue-Paris. It must be Lara Stone, it must!

Lara, I love you

LaraStoneforLOVEmagazine01

This was, without a doubt, the year of Lara Stone. Personally, despite having no particular interest in the world of models, I've always been a big fan of her. I don't know it it is because of her passion for Morrissey's lyrics or because she speaks openly about her stint in rehab. Anyway, I'm glad that her fame has expanded and we get to see her regularly in editorials.

lara_vp

How beautiful Lara looks as a brunette? Allow me to exaggerate, but I almost fainted when I saw her. Carine knows how to play her cards right and this time she surprises us in the most important issue of the year, September.

In the name of perfection

lara

It's no secret we live in a hedonistic society obsessed with perfection; one only has to think in all the tools within our reach to change what it is not written in our genes: plastic surgery, make-up...and the list goes on and on.

After much thought, I can't think -apart from the obvious- of any reasons to explain this phenomenon. Aren't flaws the ones that give us character?

On top of it, is the overuse of Photoshop. I beg those who are working at magazines to stop it because most of the times it's on the verge of tackyness.

Le Chant Des Sirènes

"I will not let thee go save thou makest me a promise that whenever I call thee, thou wilt come and sing to me, for the fish delight to listen to the song of the Sea-folk, and so shall my nets be full." The Fisherman and his Soul, from a House of Pomegranates. Oscar Wilde.

Vogue-Paris dedicates its best issue in months to the allure of French women. In my favourite editorial, Carine Roitfeld, displays once again her savoir-faire and delight us with the contradiction between tradition and modernity.

She mixed labels like Comme des Garçons or Prada with typical headdresses from Alsace or Champagne. Pure eye candy.
