Girls with Allure: Mode d'amour
Define your style. I find that a difficult question. I used to wear a lot of black, but lately I wear different soft colors. I would say that my style is basic, easy, and unpredictable.
When and why did you become interested in fashion? I became interested in fashion when i was 13 years old. I've always loved clothes, but i started to get more interested in fashion and designers at that time.
Who/what influences your style the most? There's not just one thing, I love to watch fashion shows, people on the street, magazines, movies, fashion from the 70's and 80's, the internet is a big inspitition, vintage shops, and so much more! and there are some people who inspire me like Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Moss and I love Abbey Lee's style lately!
You can't live without... my dog, animals are my other passion.
Your passion is... definitely fashion, and everything around it!
Who are your favorite designers? Alexander Wang, Maison Martin Margiela, Nicolas Ghesquière, Cushnie et Ochs, Jeremy Laing, Temperley London, Hervé Léger, Yigal Azrouël, Rad Hourani, Dries Van Noten, Rick Owens, Balmain, Kimberly Ovitz, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Davidelfin, Proenza Schouler, Chloe, Jil Sander, Acne, Rodarte.
A book, a film and a song. 100 contemporary fashion designers, factory girl, Sinead O'Connor-Nothing Compares To You
What are your wardrobe staples? Black tights, super skinny jeans, and a basic black blazer.
A fetish; high heels and levi's shorts.
What does style means to you? A lot, it's the way to express yourself to others and feel comfortable and confident in what you wear.

Girls with Allure: Cecilie
1.-When and why did you become interested in fashion?
2.-Who/what influences your style the most?
Movies for sure. I have a few which I watch quite often just because of all the beautiful clothes! Otherwise just people in general, often musicians.
3.-You'd never be caught in...
Alexander Wang. He makes beautiful clothes but it just doesn't fit my personality or bodytype.
3.-Nunca te pondrías...
Alexander Wang.
4.-You can't live without...
Cotton, silk and cashmere. I never ever wear synthetic materials!
4.-No puedes vivir sin...
Algodón, seda y cashmere. ¡Nunca llevo materiales sintéticos!
5.-Your passion is...
Coats, blazer and jackets!
5.-Tu pasión son...
Los abrigos, las americanas y las chaquetas!
6.-Which is, in your opinion, the best piece of clothing ever designed?
Striped shirts.
7.-Who are your favorite designers?
The ones I dream of wearing: Chloé, Sonia Rykiel, Marc Jacobs. The ones I can afford wearing: APC (Jean Touitou), Filippa K, Margaret Howell.
8.-A book, a film and a song.
Book: The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. It's not my favorite but I always think of thousands of different outfits for Teresa (one of the main characters) to wear while reading. I just cant help it.
Film: Annie Hall. I saw it last night... Again! Diane Keaton is absolutely stunning.
Song: Luka by Suzanne Vega. Suzanne Vega was a very important part of my teenage years and I remember seeing the music video when I was 13 and suddenly feeling like wearing hats and high wasted pants. So I did.
No puedo evitarlo.
9.-What are your wardrobe staples?
Striped shirts and skirts. And a nice pair of black brogues.
10.-What does style means to you?
I think there is like two ways to look at style and fashion in general : as an art-form or as craftsmanship.
I think you should always try to think of it as both whether you're designing, writing about fashion, shopping or just trying to put together and outfit in front of the mirror in the morning.
I mean, you can wear or design the most beautiful dress in the world but if it is not well made or in good materials it will just look terrible.

Define your style.
Simple, eclectic, dreamy and all through a manifest of my persona.
You'd never be caught in...
Anything that isn't 'me': I detest feeling like I'm not entirely being myself, or not loyal to my own style and sensibilities.
My special pharmacy lipbalm, only available in Sweden. I panic a little if I forget it.
Your passion is...
Writing. I've always had a soft spot for words, composing and creating.
Which is, in your opinion, the best piece of clothing ever designed?
Whoever came up with the black wool coat (think doublebreasted, kneelength and supersoft) was a fashion genius.
Alber Elbaz, Charles Anastase, Karen Walker, Yves Saint Laurent, Vanessa Bruno, among others.
A book, a film and a song.
'Lolita' by Nabokov for the most beautiful use of language; 'Une Femme est Une Femme' by Godard because it never fails to make me smile; 'It seems so long ago Nancy' by Leonard Cohen because I find his voice comforting, lyrics divine.
Repetto flats, opaque Wolford tights, cashmere pullovers en masse, silk dresses, Superfine jeans and well-cut wool coats with all kinds of quirky details.
A fetish.
Edwardian era dresses and blouses. The handmade details found in these pieces are stunning and incomparable to most present day clothing. They have great personality.
Elizabeth Arden's Eight hour cream, I use a tiny bit on my lips instead of lipgloss; Neutrogena's night cream does wonders for my face; Chanel's poudre universelle libre has been my powder of choice for years.
Most of my inspiration to dress is the result of me being an avid daydreamer, with a lively fantasy and an undying love for beauty.
What does style mean to you?
Style to me is a compulsive part of life, inescapable but it should only ever come naturally; when it is forced it loses all importance. Style is as essential to pleasure as any good book, song or lover. It is intelligent and completely enthralling.

You'd never be caught in... clothes with labels plastered across them. I just can’t do it.
What would you wear to a big night out? Something black for sure, it’s always the safe option. My last big night was in Brunswick and I wore an American Apparel U-Neck dress and my customized Rubi stud boots. So always something along those lines, it’s still quite grungy and definitely not too girly but a bit neater.
You can't live without... culture. Melbourne has so much of it and I am learning so much about the world through this beautiful city. So really, I probably couldn’t live without Melbourne.
What can we find in your bag right now? I have been changing bags a lot but lately I’m holding onto this hippy type sling sack bag and you’d definitely find my planner, Lucas’ Papaw Ointment (this stuff can be used for anything!), my iPod, my camera, my semi-wallet (I’m too lazy to go and buy myself a new real wallet so instead I just used a coin pouch), a magazine (currently Yen) and lots of bobby pins, rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Your passion is... fashion, writing, food and wine and music.
Which is, in your opinion, the best piece of clothing ever designed? The classic tuxedo suit created by YSL in 1966. This kick started the whole masculine-feminine look that has lead the way to not only my wardrobe choices but a whole new view on women’s fashion. It’s as much as what the piece says to the world as it is what it looks like.
Who are your favorite designers? Claude Maus, Zambesi, Chloe, Ellery, Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler.
A book, a film and a song. To Kill a Mockingbird, Blow and I Will Possess Your Heart (Death Cab for Cutie)
What are your wardrobe staples? A white tshirt and a great pair of flats such as my oxfords.
A fetish leather, gosh I am so in love with all things leather, oh and studs, so studs too.
What kind of things inspire you while getting dressed? I have a separate rack in my room which holds all my clothes which are currently begging to be worn. But before that, the rack is built up from magazines, music, art and my city itself.
Name three of your favourite beauty products. Aesop Rejuvinate Body Balm, Napoleon Pro Palette Concealer and Lucas’ Papaw Ointment.
What does style means to you? Style to me is another form of self expression it’s like art or music. It’s an outlet that helps us to channel all of our inspirations and current philosophies into one ensemble. It is fun and it is beautiful.

Girls with Allure: the search for chic
Define your style. I don't like to put my style in a box, but if I were to I would say classic minimalism with an edge.
Define tu estilo.
Name three of your favourite beauty products. Touche Eclat by Yves saint Laurent, REN revivo-lift riant day serum and Lancome Virtuose mascara.
What does style means to you? Style is an aura, it can't be pinned down, it's a product of who you are..where you have been and what you have seen.My favourite quote is 'style is the perfection of a point of view' by Richard Eberhart, he sums it up pretty well.

Girls with Allure: Karla
"My all-time favorite designer is Yves Saint Laurent. He had a brilliant way of having his women exude sexiness in such an androgynous clothes. I also really love Balenciaga, Martin Margiela, and Stella McCartney."
A fetish...
"Oh wow, I definitely have a major shoe fetish. I’d actually rather wear shoes than clothes."
You'd never be caught in...
"True Religions and Juicy Couture tracksuits."
What is in your opinion the best piece of clothing ever invented?
"The black blazer."
A book, a film and a song...
"Well it varies from day to day. Some days I’ll pick something in my closet like simple white tee or pair of high-waisted trousers and put my look together based on that particular piece. Other days I’ll just put on whatever is hanging on the back of my door. "
You can't live without...
"Blazers and strawberry lip balm."
What does style mean to you?
"Style is all about confidence. It’s not even about what you wear, it’s the way you wear it (oh wow, that sounded absolutely cheesy)."

Girls with Allure: Rumi
Define your style."Melanie Huynh reading Lula on the beach, listening to the Velvet Underground. I wish. "
I would never be caught in...
"Overly whiskered jeans. "
A book, a film, and a song.
"Franny and Zooey, The Last Days of Disco, Girl in a Coma - Their Cell. "
Who is your favourite designer?
"Karl Lagerfeld. "
What's in your bag?
"Razr, Bluetooth, iPod Touch, Netflix giftcard, vintage Sunnies in heart print Forever21 case, makeup bag, Nars lip gloss in Turkish Delight, Rimmel cream eyeshadow, ivory studded wallet, keys with Tokidoki keychain, post office receipt, hand sanitizer, Bliss hand cream, American Apparel catalog, leather gloves, Sony Cybershot camera, Dauphine Press mini-notebook. "
A fetish
"I am eternally obsessed with tights and socks, they receive even more drawer space than my shirts, and I can never find the right pair without rifling through the stockpile for actual minutes."
What does elegance mean to you?
"Elegance is looking chic in the simplest looks. Charlotte Gainsbourg needs nothing more than some worn jeans and a T-shirt to look better than any other room in the room. If only we were all so lucky! "

designer and has recently moved from her home country, Chile to Madrid.
least. Some do it good but mostly don't. Perfect example of who don't J-LO,Gwen Stefani, or Beyonce. They design trashy clothes and are not by any chance at the level of designers who did study the matter at college. It just shows." Sunday, 14 October 2007
Girls with Allure : Alix, the cherry blossom girl.
It doesn't occur to me anybody better to start it with than Alix, aka the cherry blossom girl. She has just left the design school and although she lives in Paris, she claims the city doesn't really influences her style. People at the city of light are classic, and narrow-minded concerning trends. However, several internships at Chloé and Alexander McQueen might have influenced the way she dresses. She defines her style as romantic, but not "too girly". She likes vintage clothing "such as old laces, retro prints or granny knitted jumpers, navy costumes, or 70's trousers and blouses mixed with brands like zara or h&m" and some designer pieces. But she always takes her time to find a good piece always following her heart.
She likes young, fresh and pure girls like those featured in David Hamilton's photography or Sofia Coppola's films. It comes to no surprise her love for baby doll dresses, light and floaty fabrics, and floral prints. Alix, doesn't fancy colourful clothing, and adds lots of accessories to give her outfits a twist: "I use scarves, brooches, long necklaces, vintage bags, and I'm fond of tights which are really practical when somebody is wearing so much skirts and dresses as me!"

What's in your bag? "some magazines of the moment such as Jalouse and the Lula issue number 5, my I-pod, cell phone, a small sketchbook, color pens (I like to make drawing anywhere), lip balm, red lipstick I use for lips and cheeks, vintage wallet, a small umbrella, Paris map (I'm an ignorant citizen), a little candy box , keys, and boyfriend pictures (haha what a sentimental). "
You smell to... "At the moment it's "daisy" by Marc Jacobs, I also like "premier jour" by Nina Ricci and "éclat d'arpège" by Lanvin "

A book, a film, and a song: "my favorite book is "l'écume des jours" by Boris Vian, my favorite film is "the virgin suicides" by Sofia Coppola, and my favorite song is "cherry blossom girl" by Air"
Do you have a fetish? "not at all, but I must admit I'm a bit attracted to shoes."
What is, in your opinion, the best garment ever designed? "the dress! easy and always feminine."
Which beauty product you can't live without? "I'm not using makeup so much, but sometimes my skin turns a little bit red, especially during winter, that's why I'm really keen on the Chanel double perfection fluid foundation, it's so light and soft! I also use many different day and night face creams, the ones from the brand "doux me" are the best on my sense.
Who are your favourite designers? "Sofia Kokosalaki, Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, Nicolas Guesquière for Balenciaga, Consuela Castiglioni for Marni, and Stella McCartney. I was a huge fan of Phoebe Philo for Chloé. I'm also fond of the line unique for Topshop."
Do you have a style icon? Who is she/he? "not really, but sometimes I'm a bit inspired by Kirsten Dunst outfits. I've been inspired a lot by movies characters, the very first one being Mathilda (Natalie Portman) in "Leon", and then of course the Lisbon sisters."
What does elegance mean to you? "stay natural...and smile! the clothes make part of the job but not everything!"
Song: Cherry Blossom Girl - Air
